Clowns are super creepy.
This post was originally going to be about how the circus and Cirque Du Soleil creep the crap out of me. Steve King's IT and the clown doll from Poltergeist pretty much scarred me for life. This post was intended to be a thoughtful analysis of why anyone would purposefully go to the circus knowing that clowns would be there.
Then I found out about the Cirque's newest show in Redmond. It's called Corteo. Okay, I thought. It must be about Spanish conquistadors or something like that. Yeah, no. Apparently, Corteo is a clown. A...(wait for it)...DEAD clown. You heard me right, ladies and gentlemen. This CIRCUS show with creepy contortionists and weirdos is a story about a DEAD CLOWN and his funeral. I shit you not, my loyal blog readers.
I think anyone attending this show should immediately be subject to a psychological evaluation and put in some sort of national registry.

I can't believe you are actually passing on your DNA. Please, stop having kids before it's too late ;) Thanks.
Hmmm...commenting on a Mom Blog about not reproducing? Not cool, my friend. I'm hoping I've just misinterpreted your comment and you aren't actually a total douche troll? Maybe that's a sign my blog has finally made it big! My very own troll!
Corteo is a work of art actually. Did you see the show? It sounds like you didn't.
This is a blog for moms???
Mama-bee, you sound rather Nazi like with this comment, "... put in some sort of national registry."
You have a foul mouth. You said, "I shit you not."
And these comments make you sound judgemental, "weirdos" "show should immediately be subject to a psychological evaluation."
Not a good candidate for motherhood I'd say.
hmmm, a Mom using the words "total douche troll" in response to a comment on her tragically ignorant blog. Nice.
What part of "how the circus and Cirque Du Soleil creep the crap out of me. Steve King's IT and the clown doll from Poltergeist pretty much scarred me for life" did you not understand?
I seriously cannot believe that with all my other posts, I actually offended someone with a post about clowns! Fucking rad.
I also congratulate you, who ever you are, on having no sense of humor and apparently nothing better to do than randoming troll someone's personal blog. Much appreciation.
Wow! Mama Bee! You have your own group of haters! The Hater Bees. Or the Killer Bees? Who did you tick off to get loved on so much? These people are probably death clowns relatives and search the internet for references to him. I actually think this is funny. As if cheap shots like that actually work.
Rock on my woman!
Word sister. It's called *sarcasm* you assholes. And no, not all of us lose our sense of non-child-appropriate humor when we have kids!
Um, maybe not everybody is as weirdly judgemental and critical as you, and so maybe they WOULD enjoy going to the circus, fully aware that clowns will be there (gasp, the idea of it. clowns are a circus, you must have been taken completely by surprise) ..
Have you actually seen the show Corteo? Because maybe then you wouldn't think that the people who go to it should be subject to a psychological evaluation. It is a beautiful show, a work of art.
I suggest in the future you actually know what you're talking about (a couple of the facts you mentioned are in fact false), and maybe TRY to stick to thoughtful analysis', if you are indeed capable of that. Good luck to you.
Wow. Who thought a post about clowns would receive such a response.
Let me clear the air a bit.
#1: There is pretty much no other reason for this blog than for me to be judgemental and "weirdly critical." Don't like it? Don't read it.
#2: If you like creepy circus clowns, then by all means please attend as many Cirque performances as you wish. I, on the other hand, think that contortionists and clowns and the like are fucking creepy as shit and give me nightmares. Hence, I will not see Corteo. But I have seen other Cirque shows so I'm not completely talking about of my ass.
#3. If you (or any other troll, for that matter) had taken the time to read any of my other posts, you will see that "thoughtful analysis'" are not really my forte. Instead I prefer to judge a book by it's cover, jump to conclusions, and do whatever other cliches you can come up with.
Again, if you want to watch creepy old dudes wearing makeup dance around at a funeral, you go for it. I'd rather stay home and pass judgement.
I actually found this post amusing (I think that's the point?). Of course you are entirely entitled to your opinion, and not everyone likes Cirque du Soleil, so what's the big deal? But Coreto isn't really that bad - there arn't even any contortionists in it!
I'd like to thank all of the reasonable Cirque fans out there who showed their support of me speaking my mind. I'm sure Corteo is beautiful and wonderful and fantastic if you like Cirque.
To all the other people out there, specifically "Matthew": Suck it.
